Morphe Brushes Review: 35N Matte Palette

Morphe Brushes 35N Matte Palette

Okay, so I haven't really been able to give this product an extensive review because I just received it this morning and I haven't really had much time to play around with it. I did however immediately open it when I received it and started swatching and testing out some of the shadows!

(Packaging of the product)

(Ingredients are on the back of the packaging)

(Out of the box it came in with company logo)

(Morphe Brushes 35N Matte Palette)

I ordered the Morphe Brushes 35N Matte Palette a little over a week ago and got it in the mail today. I heard good things about this company and I wanted to give it a try myself! The palette itself sells for $19.95 and then there is the cost of shipping (changes depending on promo code used).

I went with the matte palette because all of my Naked Palettes from Urban Decay have all the shimmer I need and I have a million MAC shimmer/satin shadows so I wanted to deviate a bit! I heard that the matte shadows are pigmented, but slightly harder to work with than the satin shadows Morphe Brushes offers. Based on a few swatches I can see how that may be true, but for the price I am really liking these shadows so far.

This morning I didn't intend on wearing any make up today, but when I got these on the porch I thought I might as well play around with it and do a really subtle look. I didn't prime my face, use any eyeliner and I barely touched my brows. I really wasn't in the mood for make up today so I will have to do a few other looks with this palette later, but just to show you guys I figured I would take a picture of the look. I wanted browns and something warm because cool tones do not look good on me, I look like a hooker when I wear them. So I just went with a terra cotta color scheme for today.

I took this one on my phone so the colors on my lid may be slightly different than if I were to use my nice camera, but I will do a look later on after I mess around with the shadows a bit.

Here is a picture of the shadows I used for this look. From Top to Bottom: The 1st one circled I used to prep my lids with an all over color. The 2nd one I used with a giant fluffy brush to sweep all over the crease. The 3rd I focused in my crease with a more precise fluffy brush. The 4th I used to line my under-eye. The 5th I used in the outer-v corner of my lid. The 6th I used as my "eyeliner" on the outer corner of my lid staying close to my lash line. I also brought the 6th color down on my under-eye and focused on the outer corner to connect the top and bottom.

Like I said, I did not do an extensive full face of make up and I went with some safer colors because I didn't really feel like wearing much make up today if any at all. I plan on doing a pretty cranberry and also an eggplant look in the future for some fun fall looks.

Maternity Photoshoot: Beauty Products I Used

Beauty Products Used:

Okay, I have received a few emails to my direct email asking me some of the products I used for the maternity photos (my email is listed under "contact" on the homepage). You can also comment below the post if you have any further questions. Let's jump into it!

These are not all of the products I used, just some of the ones asked for in specific...if you have any other questions on the products I used feel free to ask!

Eyeshadow: Naked 3 Palette colors used include...
Strange
Limit
Nooner
Factory

Concealer: MAC Pro Longwear concealer in NC20

Mascara: Loreal Voluminous Mascara in Original (normally I prefer the carbon black color in this mascara, but this did the trick)

Eyeliner: I didn't want a harsh cat-eye so I smoked out my black eyeliner using MAC Carbon eyeshadow before applying any liquid liner to the outer corners. The liquid liner I used was Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner

Eyebrows: My brows are already thick, so they don't need much tampering with, but I do like to fill in the sparse areas. I used/use Anastasia Brow Wiz in Soft Brown

Primer: I just opted for using a primer in a few places, like my T-zone. I used Benefit The POREfessional balm to minimize any pores

Setting Powder: One of the non-transparent setting powders I used for all over my face was NARS setting powder in the color Beach

Bronzer(s): I use a non-shiny bronzer for any contouring I do, which I do not do much, especially in these photos...but I did use Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Bronzer in Medium/Deep it is a completely Matte Bronzer. For lightly dusting on my face I used NARS Laguna.

Highlighter: I used NARS Albatross

Blush: I used MAC Melba, it is a matte peachy pink

Lips: On the inside of my lips I used Revlon Colorburst Matte Balm in the color Sultry, then I lightly added Tarte Lipsurgence in Exposed all over my lips

Now for my hair, I used the 32MM NUME Magic Curling Wand. I had an old curling wand that I was using forever, the ones you get from the kiosks in the mall where the people chase after your waving products at your face....that one. I had that one for years and years, I think over 6 or 7 years I have had that one and I needed an upgrade! I got this one from NUME not too long ago and I used to have to wait forever for my old one to heat, this one heats up to your desired temperature so quickly! You get to choose the temperature you want, unlike my old one which was just an on/off button. I love this one and I love how quickly I can style my hair.

I will be doing a giveaway with the 19MM wand soon!

Remember any questions you have, you can always comment below! I love hearing from you all!

Neutral Make-up Look

Today I thought I would deviate from my easy go-to eye and play around with some of my other shadows other than my Naked1 and Naked3 Palette. I was just playing around revisiting some of my other shadows.

Products I used:
Face
Revlon Colorstay Foundation
MAC Pro Long Wear Concealer-NC20
NARS Bronzer-Laguna
MAC Blush-Peach Twist
Maybelline Lumi Concealer for Highlighting-Radiant
Bare Minerals-Matte (Light) to set foundation
Rimmel Stay-Matte dusted over T-zone

Eyebrows
Anastasia Brow Wiz-Soft Brown

Lips
TARTE Exposed

Eyes
Primed Lids with Urban Decay Original Primer
Bare Minerals Eyeshadow in Vanilla all over lid
MAC Mulch on outer half part of lid
MAC Antiqued on outer V of lid and lower lash line
MAC Amber lights using my ring finger lightly dabbed on middle of lid
I couldn't help myself I had to use my naked 3 palette for my inner corner, I used the color Dust its a beautiful baby pink highlight
Waterline I used Rimmel eyeliner in Nude
Mascara- Maybelline The Turbo Volum' Express
Eyelid Liner I used Stila Waterproof liquid liner

It is very neutral and warm toned! It can be worn pretty much anywhere too because I kept the rest of my face really neutral as well. You could dress it up with a bold-lip if you wanted, but because I am not doing anything too exciting today I thought I would keep it nice and simple!

Enjoy your Day!

Naked 3 Palette and My Week

So I missed a day or two of blogmas, but I can't be too bummed because I was pretty sick and it just wasn't going to happen. I don't have the best pictures of the Naked 3 Palette (just the ones I took unpacking it). So I will include a few of the ones I took from unpacking it. When I am feeling better maybe I will post a few make-up looks using this palette. Needless to say, I am ecstatic I got it before it sold out because I am in love...

A picture I posted on my instagram right after I opened the package from Sephora. UPS brightened my day :)

I will be sure to add better pictures, but these are the lighter colors of the palette...
And the darker colors of the palette, blackheart is amazing!

And one of the many reasons why I haven't been able to post in the last two days is because I have been getting ready for finals and preparing for a presentation. We presented on our research over the semester to the Biology department/Chemistry department.

What has everyone been up to this week? Was anybody just as impatient as me and get a hold of a Naked 3 Palette as well?
