Morphe Brushes Review: 35N Matte Palette

Morphe Brushes 35N Matte Palette

Okay, so I haven't really been able to give this product an extensive review because I just received it this morning and I haven't really had much time to play around with it. I did however immediately open it when I received it and started swatching and testing out some of the shadows!

(Packaging of the product)

(Ingredients are on the back of the packaging)

(Out of the box it came in with company logo)

(Morphe Brushes 35N Matte Palette)

I ordered the Morphe Brushes 35N Matte Palette a little over a week ago and got it in the mail today. I heard good things about this company and I wanted to give it a try myself! The palette itself sells for $19.95 and then there is the cost of shipping (changes depending on promo code used).

I went with the matte palette because all of my Naked Palettes from Urban Decay have all the shimmer I need and I have a million MAC shimmer/satin shadows so I wanted to deviate a bit! I heard that the matte shadows are pigmented, but slightly harder to work with than the satin shadows Morphe Brushes offers. Based on a few swatches I can see how that may be true, but for the price I am really liking these shadows so far.

This morning I didn't intend on wearing any make up today, but when I got these on the porch I thought I might as well play around with it and do a really subtle look. I didn't prime my face, use any eyeliner and I barely touched my brows. I really wasn't in the mood for make up today so I will have to do a few other looks with this palette later, but just to show you guys I figured I would take a picture of the look. I wanted browns and something warm because cool tones do not look good on me, I look like a hooker when I wear them. So I just went with a terra cotta color scheme for today.

I took this one on my phone so the colors on my lid may be slightly different than if I were to use my nice camera, but I will do a look later on after I mess around with the shadows a bit.

Here is a picture of the shadows I used for this look. From Top to Bottom: The 1st one circled I used to prep my lids with an all over color. The 2nd one I used with a giant fluffy brush to sweep all over the crease. The 3rd I focused in my crease with a more precise fluffy brush. The 4th I used to line my under-eye. The 5th I used in the outer-v corner of my lid. The 6th I used as my "eyeliner" on the outer corner of my lid staying close to my lash line. I also brought the 6th color down on my under-eye and focused on the outer corner to connect the top and bottom.

Like I said, I did not do an extensive full face of make up and I went with some safer colors because I didn't really feel like wearing much make up today if any at all. I plan on doing a pretty cranberry and also an eggplant look in the future for some fun fall looks.

Frank Body Scrub Review

Okay, so I have been saying I will be posting a review about the.....
frank body scrub
for a while now, but I wanted to make sure my skin wasn't sensitive to it and I could give you guys an accurate review. I have been using it for a little over two weeks now, a few times a week and I have had NO problems. I got it more-so just for trying it out...rather than for the benefits it claims...like being good for stretch marks and cellulite and some scarring. That said, I have not used it long enough to see "improvement" in any of those areas, but I will tell you that if you use this scrub before you shave your legs then you will have the softest legs, NEVER shave first and then apply that would just be painful haha.

I have applied it to my face as well as you can see and I have not experienced any breakouts due to the scrub, I have experienced normal hormonal break outs but nothing to attribute to the scrub, if anything it leaves my face smooth and hydrated!

I purchased the Original Scent/Scrub and I definitely want to try the coconut one. The Original scrub has an orange fragrance to it and almost chocolate scent too all combined with the yumminess of fresh brewed coffee. The packaging is actually kinda convenient, although it comes in a bag it is waterproof and easier to store than some jar or tub.

Lucky for you guys they just made shipping to North America free as this is an Australia based brand. From what I gather this is a small company that is growing considerably and have had positive results with people who have tried it so its worth a shot!

If you wanna get a better feel for the product you can check out their instagram: @frank_bod

I hope this was helpful and shed some light on a product that is getting a lot of hype right now!

Have a great day!

Frank Body Scrub

So I finally ordered my Frank Body Scrub that I have been wanting to get my hands on today. It ships from Australia so it should be here in about a week, I suppose I will have to wait.

I will be doing a review on it when I get in a week so look out for that! My husband can use it as well!

I love body scrubs, but I am sick of the sea salt scrubs or the over done citrus scrubs that remind you of every single cut or scrape you have on your body. So I am hoping this all natural coffee scrub will be my holy grail instead.

I have very sensitive skin, so I am happy about the product being all natural ingredients! 1 bag is supposed to last you about a month if you use it 1-2 days every week. It is supposed to help with acne scarring, psoriasis, stretch marks, and cellulite. I am not too concerned about anything other than acne scarring maybe...so I think my focus will be on seeing any improvement in that department.

I posted this picture on my Instagram, I ordered the original, the almond oil and orange seemed like it would smell yummy and I already have soooo many coconut scented body butters that I wanted a different scent.

Their website is Frankbody.com, if you are interested. I follow them on Instagram so I have been stalking them for a while and finally caved and made the purchase. When I find something that works well with my skin I tend to repurchase it and don't really branch out, so I am hoping I found a new fix for my body scrubs--my husband is excited to try it too, because he often gets dry skin in the winter and we are hoping this will rid us of that obnoxious itching!!!

Small Business Saturday and Makeup Look From Last Night

Last night was "Puttin' on the Glitz" it is an event that goes on in my hometown every year. The stores stay open late and there are horse carriage rides for the kids and the whole street is decked out in Christmas decor. It is a great way to kick off the holiday season. It was also small business saturday yesterday so I was working with my mom in her boutique supporting her last night!

We are happy to be home from Kauai and even happier to be getting ready to celebrate Christmas!

So for this look here is what I used:

Revlon Colorstay Foundation in Sand Beige and Golden Beige (I have to check on the color of the second one I used, not 100% sure its Golden Beige)
Mac Pro Longwear Concealer in NC20
Nars Powder in Beach to set foundation
Rimmel Stay Matte in 03 and 01 for oily areas
Mac Blush in Melba
Nars Bronzer in Laguna
Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette for eyes
Maybelline Colossal Mascara on upper lashes
Maybelline Mega Plush Mascara Waterproof on bottom lashes
Stila Waterproof Black Eyeliner Pen on upper lash line
Nars Highlighter in Albatross
Bare Minerals Well Rested Powder lightly dusted under eyes and around mouth
Chanel Lipstick in Tobago Aqualumiere

In the first picture you can see I just styled my hair in loose waves I made with my flat-iron and it gave me my relaxed, casual, loose curls.

I wore a black tank top, a hooded flannel underneath my black military-styled jacket, a pair of tight skinny blue jeans, knee high socks and a pair of black knee high boots from Steve Madden that I have had for years that I absolutely love .

My nails are painted a light periwinkle/baby blue color, in Essie Bikini so Teeny.

I hope you all had an amazing Saturday night and if you are a small business owner I hope you had lots of love from your local customers coming out to support you!

Happy first day of December!

Epicuren Discovery Hydrating Mineral Mask Review

Okay, so let's talk about Epicuren Discovery Hydrating Mineral Mask. To start off, this stuff is amazing. I use a retin-A at night a few times a week and it makes me somewhat oily during the day so when I see things like "hydrating"...I bolt the other direction! BUT there has to be a balance, even oily skin needs some hydrating!

Sooo...I have had an incredibly long week with very minimal sleep, 4-5 hours at most every night since Monday. This is pretty typical for most weeks, and even though I do not turn into a MONSTER from lack of sleep I definitely feel like it shows on my skin...I feel like I look dehydrated and exhausted and my skin lacks that healthy plump look.

Last night I thought I would give this stuff a go, I was looking at my dark circles and my exhausted skin and thought it would be a perfect night to see how the product really performs, especially since the weather has been so dry lately my skin has been dry as well...so I went for it!

After the recommended 10-20 minutes on the skin (I waited about 18 min. or so) I gently wiped it off with a warm damp wash cloth, and OH MY GOSH my skin felt amazing. It did not have that greasy feel you get from just throwing on lotion...I can't even explain it....it felt like new skin. I made Zack keep touching my face and I could not stop talking about how good my skin felt.

The product says: For Normal, Dry, and Dehydrated skin types. A creamy mineral complex designed to restore the skin's freshness and moisture levels.

I have the 2.5 fl oz tube.

When you first apply it, it goes on feeling like a watery, thick lotion, but lotions sink into skin and this just kind of sat on top and did not dry like a clay mask. It dried a little but you could still see the white color of the product, it didn't seep into skin all the way, which I imagine is normal.

I would definitely recommend this product to people even with oily skin like me, my make up went on smoother this morning and my skin just looked rested even though I only got about 5 hours of sleep at most. When you take it off your face your skin feels "cool" not tingly like a purifying mask would make skin feel, but just moisturized, not irritated at all like some masks can be, instead it felt refreshed. I have sensitive skin too. I do not know what happened to my skin, but about 2 years ago my skin started being picky about the products I use on it...this product as well as the other epicuren products I have just gotten have not irritated my skin at all.

Let me know if you want to see more reviews on the other products I have just gotten from epicuren or whatever products you would like to see and anything else you may be interested in seeing in the comments below!

Feel free to ask questions too!
