No Mini Trip, But Still A Fulfilling Saturday!

Well our mini trip was not much of a trip, we were just planning on going to Big Bear on Saturday morning for all of the snow that hit there on Friday...but we figured that with all that new snow there was bound to be a ton of traffic.

Zack had done his fair share of traveling this past week anyway between flying to Utah, teaching the lab there, staying the night, and flying back the next day....to interviewing on Thursday up in Riverside, only to drive home in 3 hours of traffic and rain. We opted out.

We had intended on taking the pup there to play in the snow. He has seen tons of snow before when we stayed with Zack's family in Utah and he absolutely loved it. Sooo he isn't missing out by not going up to Big Bear for the day.

Here are some pictures from two Christmases ago from when we had taken him to Utah for the first time to see snow (Awe so cute, Oak was almost 1 years old....)

Instead we got some serious errands accomplished, I hate errands...they always know how to ruin a Saturday. We went to COSTCO, worst idea on a Saturday....

We got some grocery shopping done there, mostly our bigger purchases like water bottles, nuts, fruit... that kind of thing. Then we went to Ralphs to get more of our Fresh Produce like my favorite Pink Lady Apples (I always have to leave there with a huge bag of them). Then we picked up my prescriptions we had dropped off earlier that morning and came home and got some laundry done.
Kinda like a mini trip to Big Bear, right? NO. Haha, but that is okay! We love our little family Saturdays even if it is just running to the grocery store.

Later on we decided to go out and get drinks. Zack got a Manhattan and I had a glass of wine and then we ran over to Vons to grab some candy to go home and watch a movie!

I set up a bunch of blankets on the ground and then we chose to watch Old School, we love that movie.

Driving to get drinks, Oak came too of course, and slept in the car...he hates waiting at home.
Zack's Manhattan, him pointing out they chose to put his whiskey drink in something a little less manly ;)

Cozied up to watch Old School with our chosen candies! Jelly Bellys for me and Hersheys Cookies n Cream for him!

I am sure we will head up to the snow one of these days this winter, but maybe not on a day where every snowboarder in California is dying to hit the slopes with fresh snow on them!!!

What did everyone else do this weekend?

Meals and Things!

Things are finally settling down after the holidays, Zack's family from Utah were visiting since a few days after Christmas and went back to Utah this past Saturday evening. Zack has been working and I have been trying to get the house ready for my last full-time semester and catching up on laundry and some deep cleaning (oh yeah, baseboards and everything). So I haven't had much time to blog, but I am working my way back into a routine since everything is going back to normal!

Zack and our pup attacking each others hands in his parents back yard :)

A Couple Meals We Have Prepared Recently!

Zack was craving Cheddar Broccoli Soup from Panera the other night, but because that isn't Gluten Free we had to improvise to meet his cravings! So we made an amazing Cheddar Broccoli Soup and it's 100% Gluten Free! It also lasted a few days because there were left-overs that we put into containers and were able to make a few meals out of it!

CHEDDAR BROCCOLI SOUP

We made the soup with a simple Caesar Salad and of course, Zack wanted some croutons...so once again we improvised and I made some Gluten Free Croutons for our Gluten Free Caesar Salad!

CAESAR SALAD

We were procrastinating on getting groceries so we had a few random things left over and I was able to make a delicious Gluten Free BBQ Chicken Pizza. It was a last minute lunch idea and was soooo yummy! I love thin-crust pizza and this one hit the spot!

BBQ CHICKEN PIZZA

Last night Zack went out for Taco Tuesday with his friend so I made a salad for myself for dinner.
I made a Grilled Chicken Apple Salad. It was amazing, I made the candied pecans and added Gorgonzola Cheese to it with some home-made dijon vinaigrette. 100% Gluten Free as always and definitely satisfied my salad craving for the night! The apples just add so much flavor!

CHICKEN APPLE SALAD

Last night, Zack and I caught up on The Bachelor and I am so excited, the best part about the show is to see all the crazy women and their true colors eventually come out. It is a small guilty pleasure, this season looks like it promises some serious crazies! YES! Haha.

I hope everyone is getting settled for the New Year and enjoying their week so far! Add me on instagram @SydneySedillo I would love to see what everyone else is up to as well! I always love talking to you guys.

Small Business Saturday and Makeup Look From Last Night

Last night was "Puttin' on the Glitz" it is an event that goes on in my hometown every year. The stores stay open late and there are horse carriage rides for the kids and the whole street is decked out in Christmas decor. It is a great way to kick off the holiday season. It was also small business saturday yesterday so I was working with my mom in her boutique supporting her last night!

We are happy to be home from Kauai and even happier to be getting ready to celebrate Christmas!

So for this look here is what I used:

Revlon Colorstay Foundation in Sand Beige and Golden Beige (I have to check on the color of the second one I used, not 100% sure its Golden Beige)
Mac Pro Longwear Concealer in NC20
Nars Powder in Beach to set foundation
Rimmel Stay Matte in 03 and 01 for oily areas
Mac Blush in Melba
Nars Bronzer in Laguna
Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette for eyes
Maybelline Colossal Mascara on upper lashes
Maybelline Mega Plush Mascara Waterproof on bottom lashes
Stila Waterproof Black Eyeliner Pen on upper lash line
Nars Highlighter in Albatross
Bare Minerals Well Rested Powder lightly dusted under eyes and around mouth
Chanel Lipstick in Tobago Aqualumiere

In the first picture you can see I just styled my hair in loose waves I made with my flat-iron and it gave me my relaxed, casual, loose curls.

I wore a black tank top, a hooded flannel underneath my black military-styled jacket, a pair of tight skinny blue jeans, knee high socks and a pair of black knee high boots from Steve Madden that I have had for years that I absolutely love .

My nails are painted a light periwinkle/baby blue color, in Essie Bikini so Teeny.

I hope you all had an amazing Saturday night and if you are a small business owner I hope you had lots of love from your local customers coming out to support you!

Happy first day of December!
