Anatomy Scan & Update

Today around 10:30AM we went in for our little babe's anatomy scan and she is confirmed a healthy little one. I had done my blood test prior to the anatomy scan where they test for any chance of mental/health issues and she came back 100% negative for everything. Originally, we didn't think we wanted to do that because the chance of anything being wrong at our age was so low, but we figured that it is best to have as much knowledge as we can that way we can be prepared...but she is one healthy babe!

We were told she is weighing in at about 14oz, almost one full pound, which measures closer to 2 days ahead of where we thought we were, but we are still gonna stick with the November 27th due date for now! The doctor said everything looks great. I am healthy and she is healthy and we go back in another 4 weeks to see her again.

Here begins the TMI: Another thing that has not been mentioned on any other pregnancy blog that I have stalked in the past is how soon the nipple leaking thing happens. I was in complete shock yesterday when I thought I had just spilled water on the right side of my shirt after my workout. Zack started cracking up and said..."uh yeah that's milk." I said "there is absolutely no way that is milk already it is too early!" Well, turns out it is not too early. Thanks everyone for NOT sharing with me the fact that your boobs will spontaneously leak this early on. I thought for sure it was water until I saw that it soaked even through my sports bra right where my nipple was (sorry for the amount of information, but it might help someone else)! I thought it happened when we walked past a playground last night during our workout where there were a bunch of babies crying. Now Zack thinks he is being clever when I am just standing there he will fake a baby cry, haha very funny ;)

I thought I would spare everyone the 15 million images our ultrasound technician gave us at our anatomy scan this morning and summarize a few cute ones that she captured during the appointment. This was posted on my instagram so you might've seen it there, but I am going to share it on here as well:

1. She initially was curled up into this tiny little ball on the left side of my abdomen when the ultrasound technician started. She then began grabbing her feet with her hands and holding them over her head and we were all cracking up. Every time we are in there she is doing some gymnastics/yoga move and our ultrasound tech gets the biggest kick out of it

2. She captured a great image of her feet in a few pictures and we were able to see all of her toes on both of her feet, they are so adorable I cannot wait to kiss them....we were all laughing at how big they looked in the ultrasound. She's got her mama's huge feet haha.

3. After a few failed attempts to get her thumb in her mouth she finally managed. It did take a few smacks to the face before she finally got her thumb in there, but it was adorable once she did....and hysterical watching her try...atta girl, finally got it ;). It is funny to watch my baby girl suck her thumb in there because I was a thumb sucker until I was about 3 years old...

4. She was really loving my amniotic fluid this morning. Her bladder was super full and all we kept seeing her do was take huge gulps, she must've been enjoying my grapefruit breakfast from this morning. Little sweetie pie.

I always get emotional and even more excited every single time we get to see her. It is the highlight of every month and I do a mental countdown until my next ultrasound. I love to watch her move although it has been going by much quicker now that I feel her moving all of the time!

Our little yogi babe.

We love you so much sweet girl.

Gender Reveal

I know that is has been posted on Facebook & Instagram and all over the place, but I thought I would post a proper gender reveal.

OUR BABY GIRL:
We went to the doctors at 12 weeks and we were told it was definitely looking girly. We planned on doing a whole gender reveal party and everything and then we realized that it wasn't really for us...they seem fun and I love seeing other people's gender reveal parties but we couldn't keep our mouth shut. We instead told our family and closest friends that the ultrasound technician believed it was a girl. We waited to confirm at our 16 week appointment to tell everyone. It wasn't really a secret, we just didn't want to share the gender with people until we knew for sure. There was NO DOUBT ABOUT IT at the 16 week appointment that it was a girl. The ultrasound technician is so funny she kept calling our little girl flashy and there was a point where our little babe was full on spread eagle...modest. Although, it was definitely helpful in confirming the gender, she definitely wasn't shy!

So here she is at our 16 week 4 days appointment. Doing little backflips! She is so cute, she is also super active. I feel her moving all of the time and she is not very gentle. I was surprised to be feeling them so early, but even Zack can feel her little kicks when he puts his hand on my belly. She is feisty for sure! She is most active when Zack and I are having a conversation or when she hears Zack talk, it is the cutest thing....I totally teared up the first time I felt her. It was the weirdest and greatest feeling ever.

This is the photo Zack posted on his instagram and his facebook for the official announcement!!!

I posted the glitter storm on my instagram which I am sure you all saw if you are following me on there!!!

Oh and we couldn't forget Oak's instagram, yeah we are those weird people that have an instagram for their dog...  So below is his official instagram announcement that he is gonna be a big brother to a little girly! Awe he's getting a sister, which is nice because he prefers little girls to boys....boys are too rough with him!

We would have been happy with either gender as long as our little babe was healthy! BUT we are extremely excited that she is our little girly....and Zack was extremely excited as well, he wanted a baby girl and I must admit I was kinda hoping! I knew that at some point that I wanted at least just one girl, now I don't care if I have 6 little boys running around as long as I got one baby girl!

12 Week Ultrasound

So we had our 12 week ultrasound today. I am 12 weeks and 4 days (as expected) so I am closer to the 13th week mark.
The ultrasound technician that we see at my doctors office was extremely confident in the gender! We knew it was likely going to be a stretch to see the gender today, but the ultrasound technician was mostly positive that she was correct. The ultrasound technician started calling the baby by the gender, which kind of gave it away that she was confident in the gender she was seeing. I love going to see our technician because she takes her time with the ultrasound. We are never rushed and she is always super into it and gets excited with us which is half the fun of even seeing our little peanut face.
We are so excited and hey, if it turns out not to be the gender she says then at least we know there is only one other option! We would be so lucky to have either a boy or a girl and we are just excited that the baby is healthy and everything is measuring on track. I was planning on including the rest of the pictures from this weekend, but I was just too excited to get the baby's ultrasound picture up to share with you guys. I have about 7 pictures but I will share the one that shows the most!

In the ultrasound picture above the baby's hand is covering the face partially, but you can still see the nose and the forehead and the little hand! We are in love I just keep staring at the ultrasound pictures and so does Zack... he is beyond excited. I think he was even more excited than I was because he wasn't able to make it to the in-between 9 week ultrasound appointment so for him the baby went from a small little peanut shaped blob with a heartbeat to a full on kicking, swimming, amniotic fluid gulping baby. Also, you can see the baby crossing its legs. Those FEET. I just want to have the baby here with me already! I know it will go by quickly and I am even more excited now. We are getting to the best part about pregnancy. I can't wait to feel the little munchkin kick.

At some point this week we are going to do a gender reveal for our families. We have a few ideas planned out of how we are going to go about doing it. But for now it is just fun listening to everyone's guesses!

If you wanna make a prediction of the baby gender post it below in the comments!

You will know soon enough ;) Might be fun to see who was right! 50/50 shot!!!

I hope you all enjoyed your weekend and hope your Monday wasn't too painful!

8 Weeks Pregnant Picture

8 Weeks Pregnant Update

How far along: Going to the doctor this week this past Monday I measured at 8 weeks and 4 days. He mentioned that we will go by this time frame until the 18 week anatomy scan and that we will be able to have a more accurate due date by then. So for now I am still due on Thanksgiving! So technically I am 9 weeks today, but I will be posting a 9 week update sometime in the following week.

Symptoms: Still nauseas every other morning or so. If I am nauseas in the morning then later on that same day I will get sick again....without fail. It has been pretty manageable and not nearly as bad as it was during week 6 and 7.

Cravings:  I am craving anything that I do not have to make. For some reason I am getting so grossed out opening my own cupboard and trying to figure out a meal. Everything is grossing me out. Everything. So no intense cravings.

Aversions: Pretty much anything that I have ever eaten or anything that I usually make for myself and Zack. When we were home for Easter I was starving and my mom offered me an Amy's which was just a Gluten Free Rice Dish that you can microwave and usually when I am home you can't go wrong with Amy's, they're easy and yummy...but this time I completely broke down and started crying and got really frustrated and asked her to not even show me the Amy's. Safe to say I don't want any Amy's Gluten Free microwave dishes. My poor mom and Zack dealt with a crazy that night haha.

Wedding rings: On

Sleep: I haven't been able to sleep as much as my body wants to these past few weeks. School has picked up quite a bit before finals and I have had tests and presentations every week that require all my attention when I get home from school. There hasn't been anytime for a nap and I badly want one. I just look forward to the weekends where I can come home and just fall asleep at 7PM after watching a Dexter on Netflix with Zack.

Excited for: Graduating on May 10th and then shortly after going in for our 12-13 week ultrasound where we can see the baby's hands and feet and everything. As of right now we are just excited that our doctor told us that we were basically in the safe zone even though we aren't at 12 weeks yet.

Missing: Having energy and motivation to do just about anything at all. I was told that I can now start working out normally again after I had some spotting at 6 weeks. I was told to take 2 weeks off and that was hard, but then again I don't think my body's level of energy would have let me do anything draining. I am missing eating like a normal person and not hating everything or getting grossed out by everything.

Movement: None

Dr. update: I am weaning off of the progesterone suppositories because he said everything is looking good. We saw the umbilical cord in the last ultrasound and that was pretty exciting. I can workout normally, he said to keep my heart rate below 150...so I can what? walk fast? I don't know about that....I think we are gonna have to compromise and come to some sort of agreement on what a work out actual is haha.

Exercise: Nothing other than walking the puppy love around the neighborhood with Zack every day. Spoiled pup gets a walk every single day, but really he just goes for the "kitty sightings", he is so intrigued by them. I have also been going up to Zack's work and using the gym there and just taking it easy on the elliptical every now and then. I stopped my HIIT workouts when I found out I was pregnant just in case, but I am going to slowly start incorporating a few a week along with some walks with the puppy around the neighborhood.

So that's the update for 8 weeks, I usually post my updates towards the end of each week so I will be doing the same for my 9 week one. Until then I will still be posting!

                                       Have a great night!

8-9 Weeks Pregnancy Ultrasound + Easter Weekend

First...The Ultrasound!

Monday I had my 8-9 week ultrasound, so I will touch on that and then we will get into everything else that we did over Easter weekend. Based on first day of my last period I should be about 9 weeks and 2 days, but because I ovulated later in the month I am measuring closer to 5 days behind that...I am measuring closer to 8 weeks and 4 days (Monday). Obviously when I hit the 18 week mark it will be easier to tell because at this stage everything is based on measurements and not the actual fetal growth and all of that. That puts me at a due date on Thanksgiving if I my measurement stays closer to the 5 days behind mark.

So, now for the update. When I went in for my first ultrasound expecting to be 7 weeks I actual measured at 6 weeks 1 day, the heart rate was 108 BPM which was really strong for that early on. When I went in yesterday I was measuring at 8 weeks 4 days and the heart heart for the little gummy bear was at 175 BMP! Way higher! The first time I heard it around 6 weeks I started crying, this time I was just grinning the whole time. We saw the baby moving its little arm buds and leg buds around swimming around in there, it was so much fun to see. I felt really good when the doctor said "you're out of the woods." I knew there was a slim chance of miscarriage, but that reassurance just felt so much better.

Before I had gone in for the ultrasound we were at my Mom's house. Oak (our puppy love) has been so much more cuddly ever since I got pregnant. He is an extremely protective dog and he shows his affection by laying right up against a door to protect us from intruders, but lately he has been following me around the house everywhere and even falling asleep in my lap. He is always near me when it is just him and I. Obviously he doesn't "know" I am pregnant, but I think he definitely senses a hormonal change and realizes something is different. He fell asleep like this for over an hour, lying on the couch passed out in my lap. I love this little polar bear.

So here is one of the ultrasound pictures, I posted this one on my instagram as well. As you can see I should be around 9 weeks and 2 days but I am measuring closer to 8 weeks 4 days, so I'm between 8-9 weeks. Doctor said to aim for the Thanksgiving due date. My mom went early with all of her pregnancies so I know that I am still gonna be able to enjoy Turkey day, maybe we will just have a little troll with us! In the picture the baby's head is facing down, the butt is in the air, and the line going across is the umbilical cord. My little jelly bean is swimming upside down. I AM IN LOVE.

This came in my doctors visit goodie bag. Tons of pamphlets, prenatal samples, baby magazines, two bags, a trimester-by-trimester book, more samples of different things, baby formula, and then there is the sequence of ultra sound pictures.

Now Moving on to Some Easter Weekend Catch-up!

I was craving lavender lounge in San Clemente. I used to go here often when I was in high school and living at home because it was right next to the restaurant that I used to hostess at. It's on El Camino and we went up there after we had spent some time buying a birthday gift for our nephew at the Jack's Outlet on Del Mar for his 4th birthday. I had been craving tea with a lot of ice for some reason and this did the trick. Of course I got decaf, it was an orange vanilla roobios with two scoops of mango choobies:) They were amazing. I went back for the 1 dollar refill later in the day with Zack because I was craving it again. So refreshing! Oak is totally posing for the picture.

There is a customer in the back, but during the day on Saturday after I had gotten some Lavender Lounge, Zack dropped me off at my Mom's store on El Camino called Ritual Boutique. If any of you guys are in the Souther California area her store is so much fun and she has everything no matter what your style. Especially some new cute boho fringe pieces for the spring and summer! You should check it out. After Zack dropped me off here for the day he went and spent some time with his Dad and later came back to hang at the store for a bit. We walked to active culture for smoothies for my mom and her friend Tina and just hung out there for a but longer until we went back to Zack's parents house for dinner.

My mom had a trunk show for Christy Alvarado again at her store the weekend before Easter. She had a trunk show with her before, in December for Small Business Saturday and my mom had bought me the druzy stone on a rose gold chain and she has a matching one with a different color stone. I was not able to make it to the last trunk show she recently held at her store, but she surprised me with these little baby feet. It is a tiny gold pendant charm and it sits perfectly next to the druzy stone. So excited for little baby Sedillo coming in November. If you guys are interested definitely check out her website, Christy has some amazing jewelry. She is based in Arizona, but comes out here often. If anyone in the area is interested in the next trunk show at my mom's boutique let me know and I will give you the information!

Here we go, a classy picture heading into church on Easter. My sister was still at Coachella for the weekend so it was just my Dad, my two brothers, Zack and I. We went to Saddleback Church in San Clemente and then we went back to my dad's house for some breakfast with my grandma and one of my uncle's. We finishes up around 11:30 and went over to my mom's around 12. We opened up our "Easter Bunny" gifts from her and it was filled with gift cards, candy, clothes, and more candy....and of course, baby stuff. She spoils us, I have a feeling that once this little baby comes that the Easter Bunny will only be bringing presents to the baby!

We then went over to Zack's parents house again (YAY HOUSE HOPPING) and hid the eggs for our nephew Ryder. This is a picture of my sister in law, Kellie and her son Ryder who just turned 4. They are sifting through the eggs he just found.

Another picture of Ryder looking for Easter Eggs. After that we had some lunch, played a few games and then Zack and I went back over to my Mom's for dinner and a movie. Then come Monday I had my ultrasound which we already touched on above.

Well, I think that about covers majority of our weekend....long post! But I wanted to get caught up on everything. I hope all of you enjoyed your Easter and time with family as much as we did. I can't believe next Easter we will have a little munchkin looking for eggs (with our help of course haha).

Enjoy the rest of your week!
