I Love You MOM

Happy Mother's Day

To all of you mommies I just wanted to wish you a Happy Mother's Day (yesterday)!

I can't wait until next year when I get to have my little one with me and everyone celebrating all of the great mommies out there.

Yesterday morning Zack and I drove up to San Clemente to celebrate our Mom's and his dad's birthday. We went to Oak Creek in Irvine, which is where my Mom's boyfriend, Jason, works. It is a beautiful golf-course restaurant and because it was such a beautiful day we were outside on the patio. We had My mom, sister, two brothers, brother's girlfriend, myself, Zack, his mom and dad, his sister and nephew. It was a really yummy buffet with breakfast, lunch, and dessert. We ate and did presents there! We ended up watching a movie later on too.

Here are just a few of the million pictures we took when we were there, Zack's family took a few after us!

My mom and I laughing because she went in for a cute baby bump touching picture and ended up grabbing my boob instead.

My mom and I again. There was no good lighting here at this time of day as you can see the struggle in some of our faces, haha.

Lovin' on my Mom.

She is the best!

Zack and I snuck a picture for my almost first Mother's Day! Can't wait to meet you little baby, we love you!

Believe it or not, in this picture the majority of us are smiling, and out of about 11 pictures of this same stance we got one where we were all looking in the relatively same direction. That's what you get for having 4 kids mom! Messy pictures and little boy attitudes haha. My youngest brother in the black didn't change his facial expression once for any of these family shots....I think he may have opened his a little more in one of them haha little brat. But this is my younger sister and my younger brothers taking a picture with our beautiful mom on mother's day. We all love you very much!

I hope you all had a wonderful Mother's Day and loved on your Mommies a little extra, I am sure I am going to understand the "you deserve it" phrase later down the road when my kids are making me want to pull my hair out, but for now I will just say it and hope it carries some weight! I hope all you mommies enjoyed your day because you deserve it!

XOXO

7 Weeks Pregnant Picture

So here is an update for my 7 weeks pregnant picture that I promised I would be posting on here. So here is the updated picture! Nothing too much has changed other than my morning sickness has subsided at around 7.5 weeks. Sometimes, every now and then in the morning I will feel queasy if I do not eat something right away. I have been trying to just eat a rice cracker or half a banana if I am feeling sick and that usually does the trick!

So my stomach bloating is starting to subside near my ribs, I think there is less fluid from the cyst now...but now I am bloated in my lower abdomen.....noticeably!

I have another ultra sound on Monday for my 8-9 week check, so I will add that on here come Monday! I will update the blog with Easter photos and our photos from our visit home this weekend:) until then...enjoy your family weekend everyone!

What We Have Been Eating

Here are just a few pictures of what we have been eating. Morning sickness edition. I haven't been able to stomach anything that wasn't carbs for the past week. This week it is definitely easing up and I am slowly re-introducing veggies back into my diet, pathetic I know haha.

So in no particular order, here are a few meals from the past week or so...

Cantaloupe makes a yummy snack and it wasn't so overwhelming that it didn't upset my stomach, we split it in half and Zack and I each ate a half.

Because I seem to hate cooking for myself these past two weeks, this is just my favorite GF Amy's Mexican Food dish that I had for lunch one day.

For dessert this past week I blended up strawberries and mangos and left it pretty chunky using the lowest setting on my Vitamix. The fruit was frozen so it was like a chunky fruit bowl with sprinkled granola on top.

For breakfast this past weekend I made scrambled eggs and we had a left over potato and onion that needed using so I made potatoes with onion and topped it off with a side of avocado. After this meal I felt my morning sickness kick in and now I can't stand avocados unless they're in the form of guacamole. I can't explain it...it just is.

For a night where we had no clue what we were going to make I boiled up some brown rice spaghetti and heated up some spaghetti sauce in a pan with a habanero chicken sausage from aidells.

There is nothing glamorous about this dinner. Yeah, that is a full on huge plate of ranch. We even got so classy as to leave the pizza on the cutting board to minimize dishes. We were that lazy. This is an oven cheese pizza from Amy's...we went as far as to add our own pepperoni. Not my proudest moment this week, but it happened and it was carbs and it was all my body was able to handle.

We made our typical tacos another night, I was able to eat two. Normally I can eat three small ones if I am really hungry, but I could only get 2 down barely. I didn't have a big lunch that day so I knew I needed to eat so I ate both of them. It is just ground turkey meat with McCormick Taco Seasoning "Hot", pico pica hot sauce, sour cream, homemade guacamole, cheddar cheese. The guacamole has lime, onion, and cilantro in it already to make them easier to eat and not have ingredients fall out everywhere.

Another lazy night...I am sensing a pattern here. We actually did not have tacos back to back nights but these pictures are in here randomly. We always have left over taco meat so when we didn't know what to make one night for dinner (aka when I couldn't make a decision on what I wanted) Zack suggested we use the leftover. So we used the leftover taco meet and made "fresh" tacos with tons of tomatoes and cilantro and no avocado, no sour cream, nothing. Just the taco meat, some tomatoes, lots of cilantro, and some cheese sprinkled.

Apparently I really wanted a "brothy" soup this past week and so I made our chicken soup without any parsley and with minimal ingredients. There are other posts including this soup that says everything that is included in it.

And a lunch time snack, the other day lunch sounded disgusting so I made myself a strawberry smoothie before I went back to my Physical Chemistry class that is in the afternoon. Once I got to class I regretted it, because there are only 6 people in the class total and I think every single person could hear my stomach growling. Distracting....

What have you guys been eating lately?

Have a great Tuesday evening!

WE'RE PREGNANT!

EXCITING NEWS!!!

WE ARE PREGNANT!
The reason why we are sharing the news so early is because I don't think our families understood we were waiting to tell people haha.  My mom kept saying to me she couldn't stop, she was out of control and anyone that came into her boutique to shop and had a story...she had to top it with, my daughter's pregnant! We figured by the time 12 weeks rolled around and we were in the safe zone to tell people that everyone would've been like...."ummm, yeah we knew that already..." NO FUN! Going to my OB yesterday he assured me there are very slim chances of anything going wrong after you hear the baby's heartbeat.  The doctor wasn't in the office yesterday, but he had called me and said to go in for an ultrasound, that I was far enough along to hear the heartbeat.  Sure enough we did and the nurse immediately said, "yep! that's a strong heartbeat." I started crying and fell in love immediately. It makes it so much more real after hearing the heartbeat. Before it just felt like there was something inside of me making me hungry and irritable all the time, something that wanted to go to bed for the night at 2PM and something that loved vegetables last week and this week cannot stand the sight of them. A little gremlin! BUT after hearing the heartbeat, it was shocking, it felt like I was actually taking care of something and knowing that the little jelly bean's heart is just beating away in there is so exciting. However, we do know that in life things happen, if anything were to go wrong we have support from those who loves us. We told people early and announced it early, but there are people that miscarry at 13 weeks, a week after announcing their great news, some people miscarry in the third trimester, or some people miscarry right before they are about to announce. Things happen and there is no "right" time for every person to tell. For us, it was announcing it at close to 7 weeks. We are young, healthy, and all we can hope for is a healthy baby. Now our parents can feel free to blab to whoever and we can stop worrying about the "what if's" and actually get excited. Positive thinking!!!

Oak is gonna have to get used to a new brother or sister here really soon!

Just a little jelly bean!

SO EXCITING!

What We Have Been Eating and Catch-up in Pictures!

So this past week has been kind of a hectic week, mentally. So I have not been too good about posting on here, but things are up and running this week so I am back to posting! I did receive my Frank's Coffee Scrub in the mail last week and I have used it twice and oh my gosh its amazing...seriously my skin is sooooo soft. It is definitely messy! But so worth it. It smells like coffee, chocolate, orange goodness...I know that sounds like a weird combination, but it smells great. I will do a more thorough review on it this week.

For now here are just some pictures of what we have been eating and some pictures that have been sitting on my camera roll and posted on my instagram...just to get caught up to date with everything!

Some Valentine's Day Lovin', I tortured our puppy by putting one of my floral headpieces on him, he hates anything on his head...he was our little Valentine this year! We also made homemade chocolates and chocolate covered marshmallows for our Valentine's day. Our first Valentine's day we shared together in high school Zack made me a box of home-made chocolates in this giant heart shaped box he decorated himself so I wanted to do that again this year just for fun.
He also surprised me with three roses that looked like rose/peony hybrids. I love the pastel and green in them, he knows me well;)

We celebrated my sister's birthday at Carbonaras in San Clemente, an Italian Restaraunt. Her birthday was the 16th....she turned 20, so weird! So for a few months her and I are only 1 year apart (number-wise).

Now here is just a bunch of food/meals we have had recently over the past week...

Yummy Garbanzo Bean Salad

Tso Chicken and Rice

Matzo Ball Soup

Orange Tomato Pizza

Vitamix Banana "Ice Cream" and Tea

So those were just a few meals that I had taken pictures of in my phone camera roll...

Now, this past weekend Zack and I cleaned the house Saturday morning and took the puppy love on a walk around the neighborhood, we then had a very uneventful cozy, tv show marathon day. It was pretty foggy on Saturday around afternoon time and we just wanted to re-cooperate from a long week laying on the couch cuddling and cleaning up the house.

On Sunday we took Oak to my school to walk him around there, down on the cliffs to play at the mini dog park overlooking the ocean. I also had to do something in lab at school really quickly so we got that done in the morning. Then it was work out time for me while Zack made Cheese Blintzes (Gluten Free) they were sooooo yummy! Then I got laundry done while he did his work out...

I studied a bit and then we watched some tv before heading to bed!

Nothing too exciting this past weekend. I will be posting about the Frank's Coffee Scrub so look for that this week:)

Frank Body Scrub

So I finally ordered my Frank Body Scrub that I have been wanting to get my hands on today. It ships from Australia so it should be here in about a week, I suppose I will have to wait.

I will be doing a review on it when I get in a week so look out for that! My husband can use it as well!

I love body scrubs, but I am sick of the sea salt scrubs or the over done citrus scrubs that remind you of every single cut or scrape you have on your body. So I am hoping this all natural coffee scrub will be my holy grail instead.

I have very sensitive skin, so I am happy about the product being all natural ingredients! 1 bag is supposed to last you about a month if you use it 1-2 days every week. It is supposed to help with acne scarring, psoriasis, stretch marks, and cellulite. I am not too concerned about anything other than acne scarring maybe...so I think my focus will be on seeing any improvement in that department.

I posted this picture on my Instagram, I ordered the original, the almond oil and orange seemed like it would smell yummy and I already have soooo many coconut scented body butters that I wanted a different scent.

Their website is Frankbody.com, if you are interested. I follow them on Instagram so I have been stalking them for a while and finally caved and made the purchase. When I find something that works well with my skin I tend to repurchase it and don't really branch out, so I am hoping I found a new fix for my body scrubs--my husband is excited to try it too, because he often gets dry skin in the winter and we are hoping this will rid us of that obnoxious itching!!!

Cozy Rainy Night!

Last night Zack drove home after an interview with a company and the interview was in Riverside. It took him about 3 hours to get home with the rain and the traffic. I had all the dishes done, and had the house all cozy with candles, and cleaned up. He had been craving a Chicken Soup (Gluten Free of course) I make all week ,so I had that waiting for him too. It doesn't actually have any chicken in it, it is just Chicken Stock and a bunch of veggies!!! It is so filling because it is so much liquid so we were sleepy and in bed by 7:45 last night and then watched a show on Netflix and went to bed. Tomorrow we are have a fun day planned, early in the morning, so I will post pictures if we end up going on our mini surprise trip tomorrow morning!

Not the prettiest picture considering I had already eaten some, but I had some wine and he had some whiskey and it was the perfect cozy night for a cold rainy evening!!!

What are some of your favorite cold weather meals?

But I Don't Feel Like it....

Yuck.....

FINALS. They're starting. It is so hard to focus on getting cozy by the fireplace and having a fifth candy cane when finals are looming over me! I only have three since a few of my classes this Fall were quad classes so that is a plus! Only two of them really matter to me anyways, another plus! Today is pretty windy and cloudy, we had some sprinkling here and there (oh ya I know crazy weather...some intense sprinkling). It gets pretty crazy here in souther California ;).

Tonight we have a work party to go to at Zack's boss's house. The lab members and mostly everyone that works with him will be there. I wish I was feeling more social! It is hard to get excited for a party when all I know I need to be doing is studying. So for now I am just studying and maybe later I will post what I wore to the party or my hair and make up! Whichever!

I already went into lab this morning to check my antibiotic plates, walked Oak, and got some laundry and cleaning done! Now I will just sit here and do some light reading ;)

Pages upon pages of cycles! Our bodies are pretty amazing!

What is everyone up to this Saturday afternoon?
